BERUDA

BERUDA is a not-for-profit grassroots organisation based in Cameroon. Founded by a local man with a vision for a brighter future for his community, Simon Ngwainmbi is the passionate director and inspiration behind BERUDA. Twenty years later Simon and his team of dedicated staff continue to implement projects in the community to increase the health and well being of their people. BERUDA, in conjunction with Global Support Link, has carried out many projects, including:

  • Looking after 65 abandoned children, helping with food, education and medical needs.

  • Installing five biogas plants to use animal waste to provide cooking gas for families.

  • Looking after the elderly, providing food, warmth and companionship.

  • Building and stocking a sustainable agricultural centre: pigs, chickens, biogas, garden and fish farm.

  • Starting businesses for single mothers, so that they may support their families.

Global Support Link has been working with BERUDA for 12 years now and we have completed several projects together. The type of enterprise that has been carried out entirely supports GSL’s mission.

BERUDA has an established 5 year plan but has put this on hold during the current conflict between the English and French speaking communities in Cameroon. They now have a less comprehensive plan to suit the current conditions. Hence, any contributions made to BERUDA at the moment would go to support the wellbeing and education in the Support A Child Project or to financing a sustainable agricultural project.
