Sustainable Egg Production: Supporting Indigenous Women in Brazil

Global Support Link continues to support Indigenous women in Brazil through its Sustainable Egg Production Project, which focuses on developing low-cost, locally adapted poultry farming systems rooted in agroecological practices.

Current work includes the development of alternative poultry feed using locally available crops such as pigeon pea, moringa, and cassava. This approach aims to reduce production costs while supporting more self-reliant and sustainable farming methods.

The project is also preparing for upcoming fieldwork with the Guajajara community, working closely with Indigenous women to build upon traditional knowledge and strengthen local food production systems.

Alongside these activities, training and research initiatives continue to support local producers and students, helping to create a practical model that can be replicated in other communities.
