General Update on Our Work
Hi,
I thought I could give our readers a general update on how things are progressing with our various projects.
On the home front, Global Support Link is looking to strengthen its team and we are looking for help on social media development and fundraising. So, if you know anyone who can help, please ask them to get in contact via hello@globalsupportlink.org
In Cameroon, due to the virus and civil unrest, our work is made very difficult. Notwithstanding that, we have a very loyal and committed local staff. Alfred and Philemon are doing great work getting help to our children, and assisting them into schooling and with medical needs. Furthermore, we are changing our project’s name there from the Sponsor an Orphan Project to the Support a Child Project. Another blog will come out soon with more details.
In Nepal, our partners REAL-Nepal and AAN, who look after blind and disabled children, are having terrible difficulties keeping going during these Covid-19 times. We made an appeal recently and I’m glad to report that we raised some money, but we always need more contributions.
In Agra in India, Vasu and Danesh have restarted their after-school project, now that they are no longer locked down – specifically to help the poorer children in the city have an improved education.
In Nagaland, in NE India, Rentta and his wife are looking after the children of Agun Ki – The House of Hope. Even though there is a lockdown, education, both academic and spiritual are being continued. Also, to support single mothers and widows, we hope to be starting a mushroom farming project very soon. More on that in the coming weeks.
We continue our work and, if you can help, either by offering assistance or financially, please do so.
