Mushroom Growing in Nagaland

Mushrooms are accepted as an ideal health food, providing supplementary nutrition, and can provide a source of subsidiary income. Nagaland has a favourable climate for mushroom growing and this provides an ideal opportunity for our partners NARUDA to set up a mushroom farm run by the local community. At present, mushrooms are in scarce supply and their sale is easily accomplished.

Global Support Link provided the finance to buy spores, build a shed and install a watering system. This is a pilot project and it is expected that the profits generated can help start more production, thereby generating a sustainable income for local families.

This fits exactly with our mission to help organisations in the developing world to help their local communities.
