The Path to Hope
After some of us travelling for 13 and a half hours whilst others travelling for 21 and a half hours we finally made it to ‘Agun Ki’ (….) As part of EWB Malaysia we teamed up with Naruda to help expand this loving home due to the large number of orphans in the area. During this post I want to focus more on what I learnt from the locals because to this day it is one of the most life changing experiences I have ever come across.
Another Volunteer’s Story
Cristina joined us in our Women Empowerment project and made a wonderful difference to the ladies of Belo, Cameroon. Here is her story.

Volunteering at Global Support Link - Natàlia’s Story
(…)The project was about building a pig farm including a biogas plant which would help the community have some income and make their own business. It was done in cooperation with Beruda - the local NGO. We were two people going to Belo, Cameroon for some weeks.
“You are lame, you are crippled…”
(…) There is no need of education for you. What will you do after you have studied? Better to stay at home and look after cows and buffalos. Help the family in chores and farming.” These are the words spoken to Lila Nath Pahadi when he was 6 six years old
Children of Agun Ki Study during Lockdown
NARUDA is one of our partners in Nagaland and the Director and his wife look after nine abandoned children in their family home. It is called Agun Ki, the House of Hope, which Global Support Link helped to expand in 2018, with the support of volunteers from Nottingham University.
Nzau Village takes Delivery of Water Tanks for Rainwater Harvesting
In conjunction with NARUDA, our Nagaland partner,, we were able to buy 100 water tanks to help the people of Nzau Village with their need for clean water during the dry season. The water is collected by harvesting rainwater during the wet season.
Previously, people had to walk 100m downhill to collect water but now they do not need to do that. (…)
Supporting the Elderly
In Cameroon many elderly people are left to their own devices and they get cold, wet, hungry and lonely. In conjunction with the United Reform Church of Hornsea and our Project Manager's sister, Global Support Link started the Sarah Project. (…)
